The Minister of Water and Sanitation, Hon. Abida Mia. MP, visited Central Region Water Board (CRWB) Water Works in Salima on 30 January 2023. At the same time the Minister wanted to appreciate level of involvement by Central Region Water Board in fighting cholera that has hit supply areas under CRWB.

The Minister also visited Cholera Treatment Facilities at Salima District Hospital where the hospital personnel conducted her around and presented challenges they are facing in fighting the disease.

The Board is reconnecting schools and hospitals that were disconnected from supply due to unpaid bills and is making soft terms with the concerned institutions on recovering the bills that were the basis for disconnection.

The Minister also inspected sanitation facilities at Mikute Primary school to appreciate level of awareness and what the school is doing in fighting further spread of the disease.
